Stone Barn Smash

Here's a drink created for the Oregon Distillers Fest.  We are trying to adapt a summer drink that can also become a tasty frozen popsicle.  We think this has the right combination of flavors- tangy, subtle mint, and beautiful colors.

3 oz mini cocktail version
The Stone Barn Smash

  • 2 oz of Bourbon
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 1.5 oz mint simple syrup
  • Float of Haskap liqueur

We pre-mixed the juice and simple, to get the right sweet/sour balance and to make the drink prep easier.   he garnish is a lemon wheel and the berries just a happy coincidence of finding them in the sun on a nearby thicket, so fragrant on a hot summer day.

The drink is shaken, served on ice, and the Haskap liqueur, thick as Vampires' blood, floats on top easily.
