We were lucky to be able to place this 4 year old barrel of bourbon on the Shaver Transportation tug LINCOLN in September, 2023, and it travelled up and down the Columbia River to Tri-Cities Washington, and Lewiston Idaho pushing grain barges for over 4 months. We estimate the barrel travelled 10,000 miles during that time, in all sorts of weather and climate zones. It travelled well!
The mash bill is 60 % corn from Milton Freewater, 27.5% wheat from Klamath Basin, and 12.5% Mecca Grade Opal 44 malted barley from Madras. We made this bourbon in December of 2018, barreled it in an ISC Coopers Select Charred Oak (#1, TH) in 2019, and then finished it aboard the LINCOLN. It has not been chill-filtered. We bottled BArrel #111 at 94 proof in a combination of 750 and 375 ml sizes.
